Each year new trends appear in Interior Design – colours, fabrics, shapes and layout. This year’s no exception with a definite move keeping with the sorbet colours of 2018 moving into more ‘dustied’, ‘dirtied’ and ‘chalky’ moods (ahh – Interior Designers and their descriptions!). Marbles are also moving into more interesting and adventurous tones. More fulsome and engaging.
The earthy tones and pastel hues of 2018 are maturing into a passion for luxe and a more ‘refined’ finish – (no more ‘millennial pink’! – so passé!)
And Pastels are big in 2019, with warmer golden tones and understated or muted apricots against tans. This is also where the dusty, chalky tones make their entrance – a soft elegant twist. It’s more of the faded, duller tones and much less of the candy fluoro colours, like faded silk. Bronze will remain popular but be contrasted against milky greys, sage greens and pale blues.
Black will be big, contrasted against white and brighter colours with deeper reds for those feeling a little braver. Earthy colours paired with contrasting hues. Yellow to mustard and those ‘dirtied’ tones. Subdued corals, blushed oranges, dirty peach and rosy burgundies will lift the palette available.
Marbles will become more flamboyant going from subtle veining to more flamboyant patterns. And all this is working to a more visual and sensory texture. With matte finishes on metal, timber and ribbed or scalloped glass. Geometric shapes, grids, hand made tiles and ornaments will feature strongly – looking to connect with the larger items we purchase. Glass – textured and coloured – will be very popular.
Furniture will again become more minimalist, but the real driver will be comfort. It will however be the ‘vintage and designer’ pieces that create sculptural and aspirational additions. Curved and angular furniture will prove popular. Side tables, coffee tables, dining tables – the curved shapes will be a mandatory addition to minimalist designs.
At Sulfaro we currently have in stock a wide range of dining suites, side tables, coffee tables and beautiful ornaments. The Sulfaro Collection offers a wealth of classic and contemporary European design in upholstered furniture – Sofas, Armchairs, Dining Chairs, Occasional Chairs, ottomans, credenzas and much, much more.
