Sulfaro Furniture is a renowned family business established now for three generations. It first opened in the early 1960s when family patriarch Nunzio Sulfaro and his wife Francesca started to handcraft upholstered sofas, chairs and occasional furniture upon his arrival from Italy. Classically trained in Upholstery, furniture framing and finishing in Europe, Nunzio created furniture far superior to that which was available at the time – hand built with genuine European design and finishing.

Today with over 50 years experience in creating bespoke furniture in both classical and contemporary styles, Sulfaro offer the very best in handcrafted luxury furniture, made right here in Melbourne at our well equipped, modern Mitcham workshop. The Sulfaro team of upholsterers, artisans, seamstresses and framers continue the grand tradition of superb luxury furniture first initiated by Master Craftsman Nunzio Sulfaro, now continued through his son Santo Sulfaro overseeing the day-to-day activity in the workshop and furniture studio.

As well Sulfaro specialise in designing and creating recliner style sofas or lounge suites – our Motion Series. The simple yet delightful ability to lay back, put your feet up and sink into the sumptuous leather cushioning – totally relaxing.
