Living Rooms

Decorating 

Major renovations steal a lot of home design attention. But updates to furniture and decor are booming. In 2021, searches on Houzz for home accents increased 2,417% compared with the prior year, while searches for decorative accents rose 799%. For accent pillows, searches skyrocketed 5,050%.

Velvet 

Velvet is one of those materials that cycles through periods of popular and really popular. Right now we seem to be in an era of the latter. And why not? It’s soft, has texture, and who doesn’t like rubbing a hand back and forth on a velvet surface to create patterns?

On Houzz, searches for velvet accent chairs were up 1,161% in 2021 compared with the previous year. Velvet sofas were up 121%. 

Curvy Furniture

Furniture with rounded contours showed up everywhere at the 2021 High Point Market, signaling a curvy trend for sofas, sectionals and chairs that will keep rolling in 2022. 

Swivel Chairs 

A swivel chair gives users the option to shift position toward or away from elements in a room. A pair of swivel chairs can face the interior conversation area or rotate around to views of the sunny outdoors. Houzz searches for swivel chairs were up 1,922% in 2021 compared with 2020.

The Sulfaro story began way back in the early 1960’s when the late family patriarch Nunzio Sulfaro began producing elegant, stylish furniture for the Melbourne public. Today Sulfaro’s handcrafted, hand-built furniture is sought right across the Australian continent. 

Recently we completed an order for a customer who has a property in Wallarobba located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, north of Cessnock. As the order was placed during the Covid lockdown, the whole process – the selection of the preferred design, the choosing of fabrics, accessories, cushioning and sizing was all conducted over zoom with Amelia Sulfaro and the Sulfaro Design Team. Amelia Sulfaro and her Design Team will step you through the process of creating the lounge suite, the sofa and chairs you have selected and customising them to your individual taste and requirements.

Sulfaro offer a superb range of individually crafted dining tables and matching dining chairs. Smaller, compact units to sit 4-6 people, circular, rectangular or square designed to meet your requirements, whether for the kitchen, the breakfast nook, the sunroom or patio. Larger units, full dining tables in beautifully polished timbers, expandable to seat up to 12-16 people, again with matching handcrafted, sturdy Sulfaro dining chairs, finished in exquisite leathers or selected fabrics. Table tops can be glass, ceramic, marble, metallic or, of course, a range of polished timbers – walnut, oak and more.

All Sulfaro customers and clients are entitled to our free Interior Design Service. Moving into a new home or apartment can seem daunting, even a trifle overwhelming when attempting to create a comfortable, attractive furnished interior. The Sulfaro Design Team offer an exciting opportunity for all Sulfaro customers and clients – a full interior design plan delivered with experience and creativity.
