Every now and again it happens. One of our customers has asked us to recover and restore one of our lounge suites. In this case it was purchased from Sulfaro in 1990. The framing and springs are still in good condition but as part of our service in restoration we check all aspect of the furniture’s upholstery. In a few weeks time, the sofa and armchairs will be returned re-covered in selected fabrics with foam, cushioning and fabrics as new and the pieces are well on their way to being genuine classics, reupholstered and refreshed.
This is possible because at Sulfaro our furniture is handcrafted and constructed to the highest quality standards. A Sulfaro sofa, armchair, or occasional chair is built to last you a lifetime – and our team of artisans, craftsmen and seamstresses are here to make sure it does. As can be seen even up to 30 years later!
Sometimes it’s just time to recover your Sulfaro furniture. A lady returned this week to arrange the re-covering of her lounge suite she purchased 12 years ago. Sales Manager and Design consultant Amelia Sulfaro demonstrated a range of fabric suitable to suit both the customer’s budget and taste.
A classic Sulfaro sofa or lounge setting is timeless, it simply never goes out of fashion. You can view our range of Traditional/European and Classic/Hamptons here . Sumptuous, luxurious and supremely comfortable, handcrafted with real quality and finesse.
Many people have family heirloom pieces of classic and antique furniture, often in need of restoration and refurbishing. Loved and cherished, the owners often face a genuine dilemma – who can they trust to care for and restore these beautiful yet fragile pieces of upholstered furniture? Occasional Chairs, Chaise Lounges, Sofas, Armchairs, Ottomans – often built and crafted by skilled artisan up to 100 years ago.
For this task it is imperative you choose the right company to restore your valuable antique or classic furniture, a workshop where the artisans, upholsterers and seamstresses understand both the framing and specialist methodologies utilised in creating such exquisite furniture.
At Sulfaro, you can be completely confident that the team are both competent and experienced in the skills required, and that they have the knowledge and expertise to faithfully and correctly restore your cherished heirloom. Nunzio Sulfaro, the family patriarch who established the business in 1962 was trained in all such techniques as a young man in Italy. Over the years he has guided both his son Santo (now the factory and overall business manager) and the many tradesmen, upholsterers and seamstresses in those valuable techniques and methodologies.
Sulfaro will select the right fabrics or leathers to maintain the unit’s authenticity – framing, webbing, hand tied steel springs and cushioning, as well as piping, casters, and timber finishing.
Our team will apply the same diligence, care and ultimately love for your furniture piece as was applied when it was first manufactured. To be truthful, probably just that little bit more.
Using the finest materials and applying absolute attention to detail, your favourite piece of furniture will be returned to you as good as new – ready for another 100 years of comfort, luxury and style.
