Decor and Design Melbourne 2019, July 18th – 21st

For Interior Designers and Decorators, the Decor and Design Exhibition is a very significant event. In its 16th year, this year’s event promises to be very exciting.

The event attracts design and retail interest from across Australia. Last year over 11,500 attended the exhibition and its events, showcasing 350 exhibitors, providing inspiration and innovation to an industry now firmly following global trends. It is a TRADE ONLY event, and for those participants attending admission is free. Pre-registration is required.

The Vivid design competition, an event showpiece, is now in its 15th year. It is Australia’s longest running design competition and award program. It is presented as a vehicle for young and emerging designers to profile their creativity and direction in interior design, lighting and similar endeavours.

This year’s International Seminar series is sponsored by ‘Australian House and Garden’. The theme is ‘Global Village’, largely driven by changing technology altering the manner in which we communicate; and the different groups emerging via Technology that challenge traditional media and association.

The focus on the ‘Global Village’ will explore the manner in which we now communicate and how here in Australia we are far more responsive and greatly influenced by such Global Trends. With Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and YouTube, what is happening in Europe is now immediate – it can’t be ignored.

The Decor and Design 19 exhibition is located at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre along with the year’s largest furniture trade show – The Australian International Furniture Fair adjacent. This show features a wide range of International and some local furniture.

‘Some local’ because frankly much of what is available via retail in Australia is in fact imported.

For Sulfaro this is quite significant. The Sulfaro Collection is 100% Australian made – right here in Melbourne at our Mitcham factory.
